Here is our plan for day camps. We will hold three weeks of Day camp for our campers of all ages. Our weeks will be, July 6th, 13th, and 20th. Drop off will be between 8:30 and 9 am and pick up will be between 5-5:30 pm. On Thursday families have the option to stay with their camper for an Overlook Cookout, a time of worship and family campfires complete with Smore’s. (Parent participation required for Thursday night dinner)
We will be in 4 age groups:
Day Trekkers for those who have completed grades k-2. $150
Caterpillars who have completed grades 2-5. $150
Chrysalises who have completed grades 5-7. $150
Fliers who have completed grades 8-11. $195
Day Trekkers and caterpillars will fill their days with fun games, crafts, swimming, Bible study and other fun activities.
Chrysalises will add a day to canoe on the camp lake.
Fliers will have big adventures river canoeing and rock climbing with WildGuyde Adventures leading those activities. Fliers will also cook some meals on the campfire.
Each day the staff and campers when they arrive will have their temperature checked. We will be utilizing outdoor space as much as possible. We will eat lunch from the picnic shelter and social distance as much as we can. We will sanitize bathrooms mid-day every day and take all the necessary precautions we can to make sure everyone stays healthy and safe.
The online registration will be up the end of the week. If you have already registered for summer camp and need to make a switch, email the camp office with your request and we will handle it there.
Greetings Overlook Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that we will not be hosting overnight summer camp for the 2020 season. After much prayer, consultation with other camp leaders, and watching the information given by a multitude of government and professional sources we feel we could not safely operate our normal overnight camp experience. I know this is a disappointment to so many who were looking forward to summer camp.
If you have already registered a camper here are three ways we can handle the payments you have made.
1: We can hold your payment and forward it to a future Camp Overlook program.
2: We can mail out a full refund.
3: We can accept you payment as a donation and send you appropriate donation letters for your taxes.
Let our office know the name of the camper you registered and your choice of how to handle the funds we received.
Now to the good news! We are working very hard to offer Day Camp experiences for campers of all ages. While the safety measures that are needed were too great for overnight camps, we feel confident that we can safely provide day camps for our campers of all ages. The details for how to register and the exact offerings will be released by the first week of June.
Check back to this page for further updates about how we will operate our Day Camps.
